Jacklyn recently had the opportunity to intern at a local custom furniture and upholstery shop. She's been dreaming of learning to refinish old furniture, and while there are courses available, she figured, what better way to learn than to completely immerse herself in the environment of sales and study the craft from a master of his trade.
The shop is absolutely filled with pieces to the point where it can be overwhelming. One of the most amazing pieces is this Edwardian chaise lounge recovered in an orange velvet.
These Louis XVI open arm chairs are stunning. They have been recovered in Italian striped fabric that is understated but comfortable. Certain big-box furniture stores make it easy to settle with one tone colour pallet rooms, but adding stripes and pattern make things so much more stylish. And with a pair of Louis` there is absolutely no need to replace or update; the investment will last a lifetime, and if your room changes, so can the fabrics. If you're scared your room will look too granny, don't worry. Mix modern and classic - if you surround yourself with things you love it`s hard to fail
