The Ship's assortment of board games, delicious food and nautical motif has quickly made this Augusta Street restaurant one of our favourite spots in Hamilton.
Owner Tate Graham clearly has great taste. His menu is comprised of an eclectic variety of seafood options including Mexican Fish Tacos and Halibut and Chips. With eyes bigger than our appetite we decided to order four appetizers and share (omgz, i know). Jacklyn opted for the Calamari and Popcorn Alligator while Stephanie decided to try the Crab Cakes and Bacon Clam Chowder. Our soup obsession that started with French Onion soup this winter hasn't slowed down, even mid July.
Featured here is the Popcorn Alligator, garnished with cajun mayo.
With a wonderful selection of micro-brewery beers to choose from, we reccommend trying the Rasberry Wheat or Amsterdam Nut Brown.
The Ship boasts interesting details at every turn. We particularly admired this fireplace with carved wood surround and patterned tiles.
Tucked away upstairs is this quaint lounge area with gorgeous hardwood floors and the work of local artists.
We love the wood carvings by local artist Becky Katz.
