When Hollie and Jane from White Elephant announced Field Trip, a pop-up shop at the May art crawl, I was psyched. And it got even more exciting when I found out who they were teaming up with for it: Victoire from Ottawa, Robber, Fieldguided and Preloved from Toronto plus a local favourite YarnOverMovement. The girls put together a lovely package of clothes and asked if we'd like to shoot them. Um, yes!! So consider this a preview to all the amazing clothes and accessories you'll see on Friday. With Jacklyn being away (miss you!), I thought who better to help me take photos than our good friend Jay Perry of Monsters vs Me. He's an amazing photographer and been a supporter of our blog since the beginning. We went on a field trip ourselves, trekking through fields, the brush, forest, and swamps. Jay, you rule!
Preloved is known for their unique designs crafted with reclaimed vintage fabrics. This particular dress features three different subtle prints, and I loved the cozy, layered look when I threw on my bordeaux coloured sweater by Theory. The detail on the back of the dress peaked through too!
Above, Cinder + Smoke top from Victoire, Seven jeans, Zara boater hat
I'm obsessed with high waisted, flared denim. These are an old, favourite pair I still fit in (woo!) paired with a plaid top by Manitoba label Cinder + Smoke.

I am in love with this hand knit sweater by Tara-Lynn of YarnOverMovement. She knits each sweater with thick & thin wool from a farm in Uruguay, and its naturally dyed. The merino wool is so soft. It's perfect for layering when the weather cools in the evening.
Above, Minimarket dress from Robber Store, Pink Tartan cardigan
This is the perfect preppy summer dress by Swedish label Minimarket. And with the graphic check pattern in highlighter hues it gives it that needed touch of whimsy. I like layering prints and patterns, so I paired the dress with one of my fave wool cardigans by Pink Tartan. In the spring I'm all about wearing leather brogues, and my new ivory pair look spot on with this dress.
Valérie Dumaine dress from Victoire, Banana Republic ring
I prefer when a outfit can make a statement on its own. You may have noticed I'm not fussy when it comes to accessories, I like to keep things simple. I have a few thin gold and oxidized silver necklaces, some with tiny pendants and a handful of rings. The colour and details of this Valérie Dumaine dress give it all that it needs. With elegant pleats on the front and the deep V in the back, its a classic, timeless cocktail dress. The Montreal designer has shifted gears this season, I'm a big fan of her spring collection with the fluid, effortless silhouettes. I'm watching with interest to see how her style develops each season. Oh, and those tie-dyed leggings for spring! Must have them!
Get your wallets out girls, and get ready for a field trip!
