On Saturday, we went to Detour Coffee for breakfast. We're hooked on their Train Wreck espresso and we had to get our fix. As you know one of our favourite pastimes is eating, so lattes aside, I had the Weekender Breakfast with eggs, hash, bacon, oven-roasted tomato and toast with tomato chilli jam...and Jacklyn tried their house-made breakfast sandwich consisting of a chive biscuit with egg, bacon and aged cheddar. I also tried their "famously addictive" granola for the first time and enjoyed it so much I bought a package to take home. I guess its true. I love the combination of whole grains, nuts, seeds, seasonal fruit and coconut (which is surprising because I'm not usually a fan of coconut). Detour lists 'love' as an ingredient. Cute! They serve it with a seasonal fruit compote, so afterwards I made a trip to Goodness Me and picked up natural yogurt from Mapleton's Organic Dairy and some frozen blackberries, blueberries and raspberries. A little drizzle of honey on the yogurt, topped with the berries and Detour granola -- its the perfect breakfast.
