Etsy and The Beehive Craft Collective
When Nada, the Canadian Community Manager for Etsy, reached out to let us know about a cool craft night happening in Hamilton we were thrilled to hear that Etsy was recognizing the City's emerging arts scene. Etsy celebrates Canadian artists and provides them with opportunities to connect with likeminded folks. They recently put on a similar meet-up in Toronto and captured some great moments with people we love like Anabela and Jeff from Fieldguided, and Breanna from Scout and Catalogue, Check out the video here.
Tonight's event is hosted by The Beehive Craft Collective, a Hamilton-based arts collective dedicated to community building and creative skillsharing. They are running a crafting project for an installation at this year's Supercrawl called Modular Beauty. It will be made up of hand-sewn, English paper pieced hexagons that will creep up unexpected places along James Street North.
They are looking for lots and lots of hands to contribute to this large scale art-project and tonight's craft nightis the perfect way to join in. Come down to Low Key Studio, an artist-run photography studio & art gallery located at 48 Ferguson Ave. S. No experience is needed -- the ladies will be showing everyone how to make this simple craft and will be providing fabric, templates and supplies.
The Beehive Craft Collective will also be sharing their story and speaking to the value of building community. Nada from Etsy will be sharing Etsy's plans for the Canadian market. Oh, and there will be yummy snacks and refreshments. There's still some tickets available so RSVP here!
