At Home: Our City Apartment

At Home: Our City Apartment

You may remember about a year ago we bought a second property, a petite penthouse apartment in The Thompson Hotel & Residences. Back in Hamilton, we have a character filled century home, so it was quite the challenge to make this modern abode feel like home. With an open floor plan, raw concrete ceilings and a pared back aesthetic, I channeled my inner minimalist when it came to designing it. But I also decided to infuse a bit of warmth and texture to create a cozy, contemporary space.

Over the next few weeks I'll be sharing the different spaces in our city apartment, to show you how I styled each room, the furniture I bought, and how to best maximize small square footage when it comes to city living.

Which really just stems from me refusing to compromise on having a king size bed, a studio space, and dining room all in 650 square feet!

Many, many thanks to Courtney, the talented gal behind Cameron St. Photography who photographed our space for this post! After seeing her work for Wieske Design, Ambitious Realty and some of my favourite Hamilton spots, I knew she would perfectly capture our space. And we had so much fun collaborating. She even snuck in a photo of Phoenix posing all pretty.
