Easter

I was up and at it early this morning prepping the table for our family gathering. This was the first time we hosted a large sit down meal for our combined families. I was pleasantly surprised to see how easily our dining room could fit fourteen place settings. Working with what I had on hand, I realized a beautiful Easter table setting could be created with ease. Here are the place settings I put together for our Easter brunch.

Fresh cut flowers from the market and hints of vibrant green felt fresh and in season.

Bundled white blooms clustered in plain vases and mason jars of varying heights towered over the table. With the transparency of the vases, the beautiful green stems added some punch to an otherwise all-white table setting.

To keep the decor simple, I made small nests for each plate from colourful Easter basket grass and added chocolate eggs in foil wrappers.

Nothing symbolizes the start of spring quite like the sight of blossoming tulips, so I rested a single white tulip on each plate.

I've been lucky enough to have been gifted some beautiful crystal glassware over the years. But I like to always have wine glasses and cocktail tumblers on hand. They simple tumblers were a recent bargain find. Only $1.00 each from PC Home!

I love having our families over for holidays. This will be the biggest family gathering I've had yet! I can only hope that one day I'll host with as much elegance and ease as my mom and Emily.
