Stop and Smell the Florale

Finding time to ‘stop and smell the roses’ may sound simple, but is often easier said than done. When we’re on the go, we rarely stop and enjoy life’s beautiful, everyday moments. But there is beauty to be found all around you if you are willing to slow down for a moment to look.

Take time each day to enjoy the city you live in, the people you spend time with and the simple things that make you happy. While I, too, am always on the go, I try to cherish the little moments and little things. I’ve partnered with Prada to share the daily delights that bring beauty to my everyday and a smile to my face.

Fresh flowers.
I love riding my bike to the Locke Street Farmers’ Market on a Saturday morning and bringing home a bouquet of seasonal blooms from La Primavera Farms. They are always thoughtfully arranged and brighten up my home office.

Soft pillows and throws.
My days and commute are long. When I get home from work, I like to fall back into our loosely made bed and rest my head. Taking a few minutes to unwind makes all the difference.

Stacks upon stacks of magazines.
For me, there is nothing better than cracking open a new magazine, book or newspaper. I would happily stay home reading them all day if I could.

I have a bit of a sweet tooth. Whether it’s a macaron, a cupcake, or candies I’ve picked up during a visit to my favourite bakery, a sweet treat is sure to satisfy. Casa Del Confetto has these colourful confectionaries from Italy that I’m completely smitten with. They’re also perfect when paired with a cappuccino.

A sweep of lipstick and a spritz of perfume.
I keep it pretty natural when it comes to my hair and skin, but red lipstick and a touch of my favourite perfume always make me feel a bit more glamorous for a night on the town. I adore the subtle notes of peony and honey in Prada’s Candy Florale perfume.

I’m always sharing the beautiful moments I capture day to day on Instagram. And I love seeing your photos too! Follow me at @beauxmondes. I’ll be posting the little things that make me happy using the hashtag #stopandsmelltheflorale.

Prada’s latest fragrance evolved from the concept of an imaginary flower created especially for Candy. Of course, Candy cannot simply have any flower. Her flower has to be wondrous and sophisticated, bursting with life and sensuality as Candy herself.

Light airy top notes put the sparkle in Candy, tender powdery heart notes echo her Spring-like grace, and a whisper of warmth and honey reflect Candy’s sensuality.
