Styled: Statement Earrings

Whether its oversized hoops or sculptural styles, the statement earring is definitely the standout accessory for spring. I've spotted them everywhere from The Line to Zara. The question is.. how do you pull them off without looking over the top?

I paired a solo drop earring I scored from Forever 21 with spherical studs by Gabriela Artigas from The Line. I love the asymmetrical look it creates. Plus there's something playful about them peaking out under loose, wavy hair. The single bars adorned with pearls by Poppy Finch (below) lend just the right amount of drama for a work-friendly look. While Jenny Bird's rhine hoops are the perfect shoulder grazing length, to add some flare for night out. Check out some more statement earrings from some of my fave Canadian jewellery lines below! And let me know which style you love.

Styled: The Duster Jacket

I first discovered SØSKEN Studios when Marisa Minicucci presented her FW16 collection of outerwear at Toronto Fashion Week earlier this year. I loved the streamlined silhouettes, the textures and smart tailoring. And the neutral palette — black, grey, camel and a pop of red — is perfect really.

The fabrics are beautiful, with soft plush textures, from luxe double knits to wool and alpaca blends. Later in the summer, I had a chance to preview the collection with the Montreal based designer herself. Marisa showed me her layered approach to styling. A duster jacket, like the one I'm wearing, perfectly transitions from fall to winter when layered over a fitted, lightweight down jacket. A sartorial styling trick we're all sure to love.

For this look, I paired SØSKEN Studios duster cardigan with a simple merino wool sweater by Theory, cropped trousers from Zara's sustainable collection called Join Life, and and Everlane loafers. Both Hudson's Bay and Simons are carrying SØSKEN's fall collection in store and online.
