All black everything. That’s my uniform. Call me a minimalist, but I live by Mies van der Rohe’s words “Less is more.”

For me, minimalist dressing is about understated luxury. And mastering a carefully edited wardrobe. The trick is building a collection of simple staples and tailored pieces in luxurious fabrics. Cashmere, wool, silk, leather.. fabrics that will last and wear beautifully over time. While the concept may seem basic, the pieces you buy will be anything but.

My wardrobe is mostly black.  I love effortless pieces that work well together or on their own. But if you keep your colour palette streamlined -- black, navy, grey, nude, white -- you can still pair pieces together with ease. It also makes it easier to experiment with different silhouettes and textures.

For this outfit, I paired a loose fitting wool turtleneck by COS with tapered black trousers by Babaton. I layered on this wool overcoat by Everlane. I love the menswear inspired shape. Plus its a beautiful Italian milled wool and cashmere blend. For accessories, this Smythson travel wallet is my go-to. It's a streamlined shape and style, but when you open it up, it is roomy with dividers for everything you need to carry with you. And finally the perfect everyday ankle boots from Zara

We shot this look in the FSC Bridge in Toronto. The collaboration of two of my favourite artists, Jennifer Marman and Daniel Borins, and architect James Khamsi, It's a beautiful example of public art and architecture at play. I love the look of the black and white aluminum cladding on the facade.  The triangular glass windows cast light and shadow into the interior, reflecting off the geometric murals.

A style post.. we know, it's been awhile! But you've been asking for a new one so we thought we'd bring them back. The weather has been up and down lately. Can we talk about the hail the other day? A bit weird right? Mother nature has her quirks. In this transitional time of year, you never know whether to wear a jacket or sandals or to carry an umbrella. We opt for easy layers, that you can peel off if it gets warmer as the day progresses. Durand is magical in the spring. Cherry blossoms and magnolia trees lines the streets. You can't help but stop and admire them. We're also fortunate to live near two gorgeous parks. On this occasion we took a stroll over to the H.A.A.A. grounds on Charlton Avenue and admired all the greenery.  We also felt incredibly awkard taking photos while a team of soccer players had practice. But all in the name of street style right?
