Over the past couple years, I've really come into my own style. Years of experimenting (and cringing when looking back) has shown me that the pieces I love are streamlined and understated, but luxurious. I buy better, and I buy less now. I discovered this coat seven years ago in a vintage shop in Montreal, shortly after taking in the Yves Saint Laurent retrospective at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. It was a pretty penny at the time, but I wasn't willing to leave town without it. And I'm glad I bought it, because I wear it more and more each year. For this look, I balanced the proportions of the coat with tapered Céline trousers, a KOTN tank and leather flats by Everlane.
